Hornet/Elf Front Panel Conversion Kit
The availability of the front panel for these cars is almost non existent, you may occasionally come across a genuine one or you can get the panel already converted, but it will be in the region of at least £250. A lot of cars have been scrapped because of this, which to me is not right. The front panel is the same as a normal Mini except for the centre bit and the indicator holes, so why not convert a normal front panel at a fraction of the cost. It is a reasonably straight forward job, and with a good dose of care and patience no one will ever be able to tell the difference. Guidance on how I completed the task is here, to give you an idea as to what is involved. Completed cost should be in the region of £100. Produced in zinctec coated steel, you can weld straight though the coating and is a great base for an etch primer.
The kit a paper template for locating the holes and of course the panel.

NB These are made to order, so there is about a 2 week wait.
