Land Rover Series 2, 2a and 3 Footwells
Hand made with templates taken from original footwells, not patterns, they have the re-enforcing ribs rolled in and come with the extra re-enforcing panel welded in place for the 4cyl or separate for the 6 cylinder. These panels are produced for the conscientious restorer that is looking to keep the original features of the panels produced by Land Rover that are not found in other reproduction panels. Please take a good look at the pictures and see the detail that is present. Each panel takes about half a day to make and is formed using traditional craftsman's metal forming techniques.
The footwells are constructed to as near original dimensions that I can achieve (given the fact that every one I have measured is a slightly different size !), and I would say for concourse purposes about 95% accurate. (4cyl from a 1960 un molested bulkhead and 6cyl from a 1969 un molested (my own) bulkhead) Forming the ribs does create some distortion and pressing marks which can be taken out with the careful use of a hammer and dolly when fitting.
The panels come undrilled, for a number of reasons - it allows you to accurately locate the holes where you want them, so alleviating potential alignment problems and unsightly elongated holes, you only end up with the holes you require - and it keeps the final price down significantly.
The panels are made from zintec coated steel so have a good storage life before fitment, though a quick coating of oil will prolong this, and extra protection when fitted
There are a couple of options available :-
Metal thickness - they are available in either 0.9mm thick which is the original thickness, or as a heavy duty version in 1.2mm. The thinner material gives better definition of the ribs and folded edges, whereas the thicker material is a third thicker, so more strength and longer before the dreaded metal worm can eat its way through again, though the ribs and folds are not as tight.
Floor screw clip tags :- if you want the original style with the two tags for the floor clips then I can weld these on for you
Brake cut outs - the servo needs a bigger hole than non servo, please state if this bigger hole is required for the 4 cyl, the 6 cyl comes with the bigger hole
There is no difference in the cost for either of the above options, but please state what your preferences are when ordering - if you do not specify then you will get either metal thickness (depends what I have on stock) and no tags
4 Cyl

6 Cyl
Carriage is £12, unfortunately, due to the weight, and it is included in the total cost.

Ordering
You can either order and pay on line thorough the Paypal system ( which will either go to your Paypal account, or you can pay by credit card if you do not have an account) or send a cheque with the paper order form (please note I do need a telephone number or the courier will not deliver)
Overseas orders - to keep the shipping price down I suggest ordering in the 0.9mm as this knocks about 25% off the finished weight. Please ask and I can get a price for you.
These are made to order, and the turn around time is about three weeks
